Our bodies are complex machines. And just like any other machine, if they aren't maintained properly, they can perform poorly or even break down.
People have become more and more sedentary over the years. Many people's lives are spent sitting at desks for 9 hours a day, and then sitting on a couch watching television trying to unwind from the stress of work and family. It is very easy to get stuck in that behavior pattern simply because it is easy. But we weren't made to be sedentary creatures. We were made to move around, walk, run, jump, spin, dance, you name it! Movement and activity are things our bodies not only need, but crave. When we stop moving, we start to break down – and that makes it harder to get motivated and break the cycle.
The first step is to make a lifestyle change resolution to be active. It doesn't have to be extreme, it just needs to start the process going. It is the beginning of a larger process that can only be achieved by understanding and listening to our bodies. Start at your own pace and discover the endless benefits of exercising, which may be the closest thing to the fountain of youth!
We see the human being as a whole and treat the Mind, Body, and Soul as ONE.
